During ITSdalarnas last breakfastmeeting, researchers att Dalarna University presented a pilot study regarding a bike sharing system in Ludvika. 

The system would feature both RFID-technology and solar power techology, the latter one of the research fields at the university.  

At a section of road 266 between Hedemora and Falun, a test of new technology for detecting game animals moving nearby roads are conducted. Infra-red sensors, placed on pillars, senses heat radiation from animals or humans , and activates leds to warn approaching drivers. National transportation authority Trafikverket conducts the test, which will last for one year.

ITSdalarna Utvecklings AB have been granted a funding of SEK 700 000 to conduct project KVITS - for female enterprising within ITS.  As seen on the picture, this made us very happy!

KVITS is part of a framework programme dedicated to encourage and support female enterpreneurship and enterprise. Along with six other projects, KVINT aims to help female entrepreneurs increase profitability and competitiveness in existing or newly started businesses. KVITS will be conducted during 2012. 

A great thanks to our sponsors and partners! Together we have built, among other things, three test arenas. A city transportation junction, an arena for road transportation and one for change of transportation type. The arenas are now available for companies, governments and innovators who wamt to test different types of solutions for safer and more environmental-friendly transportation.

The 2015 World Ski Championships, hosted by Falun, will be a golden opportunity to showcase the competence of our region when it comes to ITS solutions.     

The members of ITSdalarna wants to participate in making the championships a successful event also regarding transportation.
